Consider me inspired. The Leadership Institute training conference began yesterday morning at 8:30 a.m. with a series of day long lectures on a broad variety of excellent topics. Short breaks for lunch and dinner and all the students we're well cared for with food, snacks and a nice facility.
Exceeding expectations: (Something our party needs to do more of...) Yesterday's conference wrapped just after 11:30 p.m. Yeah, long day... but every one of the students stayed with the mission and even though fatigue was fairly evident by days end; there were several class mates who had nearly filled the "LI" provided spiral bound notebook with notes...just from the first day's lectures! After dinner, the students opted on several occasions to cancel the scheduled breaks and continue with the lecture series.
The shocker to many...there were three homework assignments to complete before class resumed this morning at 8:45 a.m. Ever heard the phrase "inspiration comes from perspiration?" I was blown away to learn this morning how many of the student went straight to their hotel suites, teamed up and completed the homework projects...many staying up until 1:00 a.m. to finish the job!
Today's speakers included RPI Chair Matt Strawn and our Senior Senator Chuck Grassley. It was an incredible experience to participate in this conference and hear how passionate and articulate our next generation of conservative leaders are.

Discussing policy with Senator Chuck Grassley, tough questions and very candid answers.
