I am grieved to be writing this post to you tonight... I've tried to be civil in my discourse about President Obama, although it's becoming very difficult since last January...
Today's news brings me to a raging anger that causes me the temptation to use irresponsible words to describe my emotions...
So I will simply present the facts and let you be your own judge...
It is well known that in moments of national tragedy, the American people count on our President to lead and inspire the country.
Let it also be known that the President made a secret visit to Fort Hood today in Texas with his wife and spent nearly two hours with the family members of the shooting victims and also with those who were recovering from their injuries. It was a heartfelt moment of support and sincere appreciation, warmth and love for the devastating loses borne on these brave military men and women.
The President insisted to the base commanders that this visit be "secret" in nature with no press allowed to cover the visit and disrupt the privacy of these grieving family members.
This serves to reinforce the great character and integrity of our commander in chief, who made this trip to offer comfort, prayers and reassurance in a moment of blinding pain and confusion.
There's just one problem with my report:
The President of the United States is currently relaxing at Camp David in the wooded hills of Maryland, apparently oblivious to his duties and the burden of suffering being borne by our country's bravest and finest....
You see, the President who stood at the side of our military men and women today was none other than President George W. Bush and his wife Laura Bush.
President Obama brings disgrace and shame upon the American people, today's events bring us more proof that he is unfit for the privilege of working in the Ovel Office.

I like reading your blog because sometimes you're hitting at valid points of failure in Democratic leaders. And there are many to be found.
But sorry, this is another one where you're jumping the gun. On Friday, Obama was at Walter Reed with wounded soldiers, and is attending services *today* at Fort Hood.
I'll even quote an article about his visit to Walter Reed from last Friday - the day *before* you posted this about Obama's disgracefulness:
http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/11/06/politics/politicalhotsheet/entry5555258.shtml
"No pictures are being released from the visits because, according to White House aides, the president considers them sacred and private."
They even continue with this:
"The president plans to attend a memorial service at Fort Hood when one is scheduled."
So, is Obama still a "disgrace" and bringing "shame on the American people"? Or did you simply overreact and not check your facts before posting?
Perhaps you should take a step back before posting sometimes and consider the facts, widely reported and easily available on the Internet, in your attempts to be civil. It'd help make your points better.
There's plenty of valid points to make about Obama's failures. But when you leap to conclusions like this that are easily disproven, you're doing a disservice to your readers.

Smurfyhoser - First, thanks for being a loyal reader all these months and as you are a regular "commentator" on this site, I respect your points of view even though we generally agree to disagree. Is Obama a leader or a follower? A leader would simply fire up Air Force One and go to the tragedy to provide the symbolic comfort that only POTUS can in moments such as this. Remember Reagan after the Challenger? Obama has really screwed this one up, even his most ardent supporters have called him out on this. (Especially his first press conference, post shooting) A follower would simply wait for the memorial service to be scheduled and then show up with all the press and cameras. Spending the weekend at Camp David was also viewed by Veterans everywhere as an inappropriate gesture to those who serve our country. Last but not least, explain why Obama can fly Michelle up to New York City for a "date night" on Broadway but can't find time from his busy weekend at Camp David to pay respects to the families who are grieving and mouring the loss of their loved ones? I stand firm on my outrage, and I'm not alone.

I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree here. I thought this was interesting, though, after the president visited Arlington on Veterans Day.
