In yesterday's post celebrating our GOP victories Tuesday, I finished my column with an admonition for Republicans and Conservatives to stay HUMBLE and earn the trust just given us.
Today I ask you all to be ALERT. While we high-five and celebrate our advances, we're in the midst of losing an enormous chunk of the moral "high ground" that we may never recover, much like the infamous Roe v. Wade decision decades ago.
Even now, Democrat leaders Reid and Pelosi are in the midst of a grandiose "card trick" using the 2000+ page health care bill that is intended to serve as legislative subterfuge. Those who do read the bill emerge with an enormous headache and they still don't understand what it all means.
Contained in the federal insurance plan is a scheme that will require the federal government to pay for all elective abortions. Let me repeat myself: "All elective abortions."
For today's post, I'm keeping this simple and focused on three key issues. First, all life is precious. Second, we will someday be judged for our unwillingness to defend the defenseless. Third, the public option is the "magic key" that makes all this happen in the health care bill.
Democrats know many volunteers and activists are tired and recovering from weeks and weeks of energetic campaigns. They intend to strike now....while our guard is down and our batteries need a recharge.
